I want to look for it too….” accompanied by numerous netizen comments criticizing the practice of disregarding the economic value of creative work, such as video editing and dubbing.
The public has been vocal in stating that considering intellectual work as “free” or “zero rupiah” is an injustice to creators. Some comments even linked this to previous government projects allegedly rife with price markups, while creative work on the other hand is undervalued.
Harry Yulianto, a Content Educator at STIE YPUP Makassar, emphasized that the perception of “zero-rupiah editing services” contradicts the basic principles of the creative economy and copyright law.
“Economically, every intellectual process that produces a work—whether it’s an idea, editing, or dubbing—has a cost value and economic rights. Treating it as zero rupiah is equivalent to ignoring the hard work of creators. Our country is rich in creativity, but if the system fails to protect the economic value of works, then talents will choose to work abroad,” Harry said in a separate interview.
Harry also reminded that Indonesia’s Copyright Law explicitly protects the economic rights of creators. Setting a cost of IDR 0 for an intellectual process, according to him, is a form of neglect toward legally protected rights.
This case has once again opened a discussion on the appreciation of creative workers amid the many government and private sector projects that often push service prices below reasonable standards.
Heboh Komentar “Editing 0 Rupiah” di Medsos, Publik Soroti Pengabaian Nilai Ekonomi Karya Intelektual

Mau ikutan nyari juga….” yang disertai dengan berbagai komentar warganet yang menyoroti praktik pengabaian nilai ekonomi dalam pekerjaan kreatif, seperti editing video dan dubbing.
Publik ramai menyebut bahwa menganggap pekerjaan intelektual sebagai “gratis” atau “nol rupiah” merupakan bentuk ketidakadilan terhadap para kreator. Beberapa komentar bahkan mengaitkannya dengan kasus-kasus proyek pemerintah sebelumnya yang diduga sarat markup harga, sementara di sisi lain pekerjaan kreatif justru tidak dihargai secara layak.
Harry Yulianto, Content Educator dari STIE YPUP Makassar, menegaskan bahwa persepsi “jasa editing nol rupiah” bertentangan dengan prinsip dasar ekonomi kreatif dan hukum hak cipta.
“Secara ekonomi, setiap proses intelektual yang menghasilkan karya—baik itu ide, editing, atau dubbing—memiliki nilai biaya dan hak ekonomi. Menganggapnya nol rupiah sama saja dengan mengabaikan jerih payah kreator. Negara kita kaya akan kreativitas, tapi jika sistem tidak melindungi nilai ekonomi karya, maka para talenta akan memilih bekerja di luar negeri,” ujar Harry saat diwawancarai terpisah.
Harry juga mengingatkan bahwa Undang-Undang Hak Cipta di Indonesia secara tegas melindungi hak ekonomi pencipta. Menetapkan biaya Rp0 untuk proses intelektual, menurutnya, adalah bentuk pengabaian terhadap hak yang dilindungi undang-undang.
Kasus ini kembali membuka diskusi tentang penghargaan terhadap pekerja kreatif di tengah maraknya proyek-proyek pemerintah dan swasta yang kerap menekan harga jasa di bawah standar kewajaran.
